Memorial website in the memory of your loved one
This memorial website was created in  memory of My  Beloved daughter, Rachel Marie Paul who was born in Bellflower,  California at 3:01p.m. on July 03, 1983 and passed away 6:50 p.m.  on March 29, 2005 at the age of 21.  Rachel loved Tae kwon-do and was a 2nd degree black belt. She coached Pee-Wee cheerleaders, was on the track team and in the band.  She was the most courageous person I have ever met and she taught me how to be a loving person, a caring person, and a best friend.  She was mine.  Her beautiful spirit was apparant to everyone who met her, her smile a wonder to behold. She was a loyal friend. Her transplant doctor said the she was the oldest soul he had ever met. She attracted people from all walks of life with her humor, wit and that beguiling smile.  With all that she went through, she still kept a positive attitude. But she was also realistic and knew when there was nothing else that could be done. She decided to live the rest of her life "As if she were dying". She was. She planned her own memorial, said good bye to her friends and family and knew she would be in Heaven.  She told me that she knew when her pain ended, that mine would begin. Oh how right she was. Her last words were to me.  She said "I love you so much Mom"  As I watched her take that last breath, I knew that I had lost my daughter, best friend, and the only one who loved me just because. This will be a pain that I will carry until I take my last breath.  I will miss her forever!!  37 minutes after Rachel received her wings, her cat Angel ran out into the street, waited for a car to hit him and he earned his wings too.  So I lost both of my Angels on the same day, within the same hour.  Now I picture them together forever within each others arms, cuddling and loving each other.  I know that they are with her Grandma and Uncle Don and how I envy them that.  Oh how I miss them all!! Now I just wait for the day I can be with them again. Please God, make it soon!!!

TRANSPLANT

In Her Own Words

Who would have thought this could happen to me,
The thought never crossed my mind.
Daily, I ask myself why?... how could this be?,
Only 17 and almost ran out of time.

Who knew I was a serious case,
Desperalely in need of a liver.
I didn't know my mom when I saw her face,
And for days she cried a river.

I was a status "1A", dying pretty fast,
All my mother could do was pray.
All her other worries put in the past,
As she lived through hell each day.

On the transplant list for only one day,
But otherwise I would've been toast.
Every morning my mom heard the Dr's say,
She's hours from being a ghost.

But the whole experience wasn't all bad,
In fact, after the transplant we had fun.
Picked up a brand new grandma, granddad
A week before me, Peggy had gotten one.

But one person has given me faith,
The woman that always does,
My mom helped me to join this race,
She's the best there ever was.

When I had no strength, she was there,
Helping me wherever I had to go.
She held me when I was really scared,
And washed me from head to toe.

Overall, I have learned from this
A lot that I didn't know.
In a small town, I was missed,
And in Dallas new friendships grow.

I feel like a whole new me,
And maybe it's a better one too,
Just being alive fills my heart with glee,
So I'm living life to the fullest, and so should you!

Rachel Marie Paul
October 2000

Rachel did live life to the fullest until the day she became an angel.  Please consider becoming a Organ Donor.  Two donors gave us 5 more years with our precious Rachel, for which we will be eternally grateful!!!
